This project is a promotional illustration created for Equality Australia, titled "Visible Together." It aims to respond to the identity diversity and visibility of LGBTQIA+ communities within public discourse through visual language.
Using illustration as the primary medium, the poster series incorporates visual metaphors and cultural symbolism to echo the core themes of the initiative. In this series, I employ anthropomorphic swans as central metaphors to explore how LGBTQIA+ identities are expressed and perceived across different cultures and historical contexts. The visual style combines the flamboyant aesthetics of camp with the emotive depth of narrative illustration, creating a theatrical yet tender and inclusive atmosphere.
Through this work, I hope viewers can sense the process of self-construction experienced by queer individuals in a pluralistic society and realize that “visibility” is not merely the act of being seen, but an ongoing pursuit of understanding and recognition. Just like swans dancing through the night, each individual continues to perform on their own stage, voicing their truth whether seen or unseen.
